Malli on Leanne Bensonin, Make Modern lehdestä. Suurensin työtä jonkin verran, jotta siitä tulisi peittokokoinen. Tikkaus on suoraa poikkiraitaa ja jokaisessa sakarassa on sakaran värinen lanka. Lankojen vaihtelu tuotti hieman lisää työtä mutta halusin että tikkaus on mahdollisimman huomaamaton tuossa tähtiosassa.
Periaatteessa aika nopea työ. Aikaa meni eniten kankaiden valinnassa. Osa on tilkkulaatikosta ja osa isommista paloista. Hyvänen aika, nyt en enää muista laitoinko väliin bambu- vai puuvillavanua mutta mukavan pehmeä tästä tuli.
This kinda quilt this time. The pattern is quite flashy and hanging it straight makes it justice the best. For this reason I have hanging hooks on my wall so I can put up my quilts . At the moment there is a flower rain quilt but I'm gonna switch it to this after a while.
Pattern is Leanne Benson's, from Make Modern magazine. I made more rows to make it a blanket size quilt. Quilting is straight lines and every point of the star is quilted with it's own color. Switching the color of the thread caused some extra work but I wanted the quilting to be near invisible in the star.
First I cut triangles in to a big pile and after that I started to organize them in to their correct places. Basically a pretty quick job. Most time took selecting the fabrics. Some are scraps and some are from bigger pieces. For the life of me I can't remember if I used a cotton or bamboo batting but it is very soft.
To the backing I wanted something bright and Soile from Tilkkupaja had one piece of this Tula Pinks fabric. Because I'm not planning on keeping this on the wall forever it's good that it has a pretty backing.
July is starting to come to an end, but there's still time to enjoy summer. August already starts to feel bit like fall. Linking up with finish it up friday.
